Final Project Inspiration
For my final project I chose to follow my roommates, Kelsey Barrett and Alicia Soluri, around while they work on their clothing and designs for the fashion show. Both Kelsey and Alicia are Fashion majors at Cazenovia college, and they each had their own senior collection for the annual Cazenovia College Fashion Show that is held in April every year. Kelsey's collection was based on Working Women during World War 2, and Alicia's collection was based on men and women in the 1920's. I chose to do a documentary on them because I saw how much time and effort they were putting into their work, and I figured it would be great to get a behind the scenes look at the Road to the Fashion Show.

Inspiration
My inspiration for my 4th project is the couple that just celebrated their 81st wedding anniversary. I love stories like this, they show that true love does exist, and that if you want your marriage to work, you can make it work. Now-a-days you see people getting divorced left and right, some after being married for 15 years, and other after being married for 6 months. I hate to see that, and the loving stories of old couples making their marriages last is something that makess me warm and happy. Im choosing to do this project on my parents, who will be celebrating their 31st wedding anniversury in August. They have been together for 35 years, married for 31. This is a rare thing now, with divorce rates on the rise. My parents set an example for me, and I hope that I can be lucky enough to find someone to spend the rest of my life with, like my parents and like the couple who have been together for 91 years. The following pictures are of the couple and there is a link to their video.

Photo Illustration Inspiration
For my photo illustration project, I chose an issue that was a part of my life. I chose to do my photo illustration on bullying. I was bullied when I was younger, and when I was in high school I joined a school group called CASS, which stands for Creating A Safe School. As a group we would go to the middle school and talk to students about bullying. We would do activities and talk to them about all kinds of bullying and how it effects people. So I went to the www.stopbullying.gov webpage and got some information from that and looked through their photographs. I put some ideas together from the images on that site and from other images I have seen on posters and on other sites on the internet. I especially liked the "Stand Up, Speak Out" quote so I put that into my work, along with a statistic from www.stopbullying.gov. I also got some ideas from www.standspeak.org. There are a bunch of stop bullying campaigns and websites out there and I got a lot of good information from them.I actually submitted some of my work to the sites that were taking submissions.

Chapter 11 Post
These pictures show my camera technique that was pretty consistent. I zoomed in close to all of the plants and had them a little bit off centered. They're pretty cliche pictures, but my techniques are constant.

Spot News Inspiration
For this Spot New inspiration, I took something that I am very interested in and did a feature about sports. My inspiration was the NFL Scouting Combine. I have been following it a little bit and I have been looking through all of the pictures. All of the pictures that I have seen have been amazing action shots. They totally freeze time and movement. The website shows all of the pictures from the course of the Combine. For people who are not familiar with football or sports, the NFL Scouting Combine is an event in which college level football players go through a series of tests, physical and mental, and they are scouted by National Football League coaches. They do strength and conditioning tests, as well as mental and drug testing. All of their statistics are taken so coaches can evaluate them and see if they would like to draft the college players to their professional team. I am an avid football fan, so this is always something I look forward to each spring.I love the pictures that were taken because they stop time. Some of the best pictures stop the players in mid aid, and everything about them is frozen. Those are my favorite kinds of pictures. So for my Spot News Feature I chose to photograph a sporting event. I shot the Cazenovia Men's Basketball game and Senior Night against Morrisville State College on Friday, February 20th.

Human Interest
Outside of the Cafe at Cazenovia College, you find the Environmental Club selling Survival Bracelets. These bracelets can be used in a variety of ways including a make shift sling or splint, a tourniquet or fishing line. For a small price you can buy a survival bracelet, and it could even save your life one day.
The Cazenovia Women's Basketball Team takes part in a lot of community service events, and on Sunday February 15th they had a troop of girl scouts come to the Gym. The team talked about healthy eating habbits, and how staying active will have a positive impact on your life. The girl scouts and players decorated paper jerseys with their names and numbers.
Are you a trivia fiend? The Shove Hall Resident Advisers held a trivia night on Thursday February 12th in the Shove Lounge. Students living in Shove came down to the lounge to participate in the fun with the chance to win some great prizes. The RA's set up events like this every week, to give the students that live on campus something to do at night when their brains are fried from studying or if they are bored out of their minds.
The Girl Scouts came to the gym with the Cazenovia Women' Basketball team on Sunday, February 15th. The players and the girls played with the basketballs, shooting around and passing back and fourth. One lucky girl scout had the help of three of the players and she was able to achieve her goal of dunking a basketball.

Human Interest Inspiration
I found this web site called The Travel World, and they have a section all about human interest photography and journalism. This site showed all types of places and events that were photographed in a human interest perspective. These pictures were taken from all over the world. That is one of the other reasons I liked this page so much, I love to travel and someday hope to travel the world. I love taking pictures and would love to travel and take pictures at the same time. Some of the categories that are shown on this website are great, and they range from health to children to poverty, markets and museums. A link to the site can be found directly below.
